Collect and review private attachments

Use supported upload types, quarantine and the entry's permission boundary.

Explain what the visitor should upload

Pro supports PDF, JPEG, PNG and text files. Type checks inspect the content, not only a filename.

  1. Add an upload question and explain the supporting material needed.
  2. Ask visitors to remove unrelated personal information.
  3. Test a supported example and a rejected type on staging.

Review the quarantined file

Uploads stay in private database storage outside the WordPress media library. An authorized reviewer approves a quarantined attachment before normal access.

  1. Open the submission with an account allowed to manage it.
  2. Inspect the attachment's review state.
  3. Treat approval as a review decision, not a malware scan or proof of safety.

Check access and removal

Attachment access follows the entry's access boundary and privacy lifecycle.

  1. Test a permitted reviewer and an excluded account.
  2. Review the form's retention and WordPress personal-data request workflow.
  3. Keep external copies and backups subject to their own retention process.

Understand Pro deactivation

Disabling Pro keeps completed entries and retained configuration, but hides the upload field on public forms.

  1. Review a live form before deactivating the add-on.
  2. Use the core entry and privacy tools for existing submissions.
