Give longer forms a clear path.

Organize a Pro form into named steps, let visitors review active answers and offer a private link for saved progress.

How it works

Divide the task into named steps

Use a progress list and Back and Next controls to make a longer form easier to follow. Validation checks the active questions before the visitor moves forward.

  • Group questions around a meaningful stage of the task
  • Keep step names descriptive rather than decorative
  • Conditions and answer comparisons work across the active form

Let the visitor check before sending

The optional final review displays active answers, unanswered questions and selected filenames. An Edit action returns to the original control with focus, while answers and selected files remain in the current form.

  • A review step is optional
  • Back and Edit are part of the same current form session
  • Only the final submission enters the normal storage and notification flow

Offer a private return link

Save and resume stores encrypted temporary progress for seven days behind a private link. It is useful when a visitor needs time to gather information before submitting the finished form.

  • Treat the return link as private
  • Saved progress is separate from a completed entry
  • Temporary progress is removed when Pro is deactivated

Guide someone through a detailed request

Use steps when the questions form a real sequence, rather than turning every short form into a wizard.

  1. Collect the context

Start with contact information and the type of help needed.

  2. Ask the relevant details

Group the supporting questions together and offer saved progress when the task needs more time.

  3. Review and send

Let the visitor inspect active answers and return to the relevant question before the final send.

Plan your setup

  • Steps and final review are progressive enhancements. Without JavaScript, questions appear on one page and server rules still apply.
  • A final review is not an electronic signature or identity verification.
  • Saving progress is not a submitted entry. Test the complete return-link flow on staging before relying on it.

Common questions

Will a long form stop working without JavaScript?

The public form uses a one-page path without step navigation or final review. The server still evaluates active conditions and validates answers.

Does reviewing answers send the form?

No. Opening review does not complete a submission. The visitor still uses the final send action.
